Hello from New Brunswick!

I am so excited to be working with the Nature Conservancy of Canada as a Shell Conservation Intern! I just started this week but I’m already right in the thick of things in the stewardship department of the Atlantic region. I have begun developing plans for a salt marsh restoration project along the Bay of Fundy.

More than 65% of these fascinating and valuable ecosystems have already been lost in this area and they continue to be threatened by development. Having just finished writing my master’s thesis at McGill University on recovery of salt marshes in this region I feel incredibly lucky to be given a chance to put my knowledge to use in restoring and protecting such an important site. I’m also looking forward to seeing all of the other NCC sites in New Brunswick.

What could be better than to spend my summer visiting all of the most beautiful places in my home province!?

Best wishes,
Paula Noel
