| Shell Conservation Intern Bryan Taylor |
Hello from Central and Midwestern Ontario,
I've always had a passion for wildlife, and spending much of my childhood at the cottage has been a big inspiration for me to pursue this line of work. As a recent graduate in Fish and Wildlife Technology and Biology at Sir Sanford Fleming College and Trent University, I've been trying to gain new experience in the fields of ecology, conservation, and stewardship work.
As a Shell Conservation Intern working for the Nature Conservancy of Canada I have been able to use the knowledge I've gained through school, while acquiring new skills that will better prepare myself for future work in the environmental field. I have gained a better understanding of how non-governmental organizations work, and had a chance to work in some unique and sometimes rare ecosystems.

This summer has also introduced me to some new and exciting flora and fauna as well as some rare and even endangered species. I'm always surprised at how much biodiversity can be found here in southwestern Ontario, as well as its beautiful landscapes. I've been learning about and working on property management plans, baseline inventories, and easement monitoring, all to help protect, conserve and steward these important natural areas and the wildlife that resides within them. I'm very happy to be a part of this team, and feel that the newly acquired skills being provided with this internship will no doubt prepare me for an exciting future.
Cheers,
Bryan Taylor
