Hi everyone,
I recently finished a degree in biology from the University of Saskatchewan. I am having an amazing summer working as a Shell Conservation Intern for the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s (NCC’s) Saskatchewan Region.
I have been busy this summer visiting conservation easements in the Missouri Coteau area of Saskatchewan. This is a very hilly area that not very many people are aware of, and I get to walk and experience it firsthand! Along with my fellow interns, I am responsible for conducting health assessments on the grasslands and wetlands in order to monitor these systems through time.
As well as learning a lot about the province that I grew up in, I am gaining connections with others working in the same field and honing my grass and bird species identification skills. I am always so excited to see what new and interesting species, landscapes and experiences each day brings.
Saskatchewan is such a rich diverse province. I am so happy to be a part of the work NCC does to conserve it.
Have a good rest of the summer!!!
